چکیده
Land use change resulting from anthropogenic pressure on land has led to degraded soil quality, especially in the hilly tropical regions where ecosystems are generally fragile and susceptible degradation cultivation. Hence, sustainable uses management practices crucial for agricultural production ecological balance, particularly these regions. The present study investigates impact of various hill (Natural forest-NAF, Jhum fallow-JF, Home garden-HG, Acacia pennata plantation-AP Current Jhum-CJ) exchangeable nutrients steeply sloping agro-ecosystems Mizoram, North-east India. Soil samples were collected three different depths (0-10, 10-20 & 20-30 cm) analyzed pH, Pavail, Na, K, Mg, Mn Ca. Our results indicated that had a significant Pavail cations (p<0.05). Conversion native forests cultivation negatively affected properties as by reduced cultivated lands (AP CJ) relation natural forest (NAF) fallow (JF). Soils under longer periods (>12 years) increases available indicating role vegetation cover conserving enhancing vice-versa. In addition, garden (HG) showed moderately higher signifying such addition organic amendments mixed cropping, leading increased nutrient content.

The Effect of Different Land Uses on New Indices of Soil Quality in Central Alborz Region
Different land uses have various effects on the changes of soil properties. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of natural forest, needle-leaved plantation and rangelands of central Alborz on new indices of soil quality (i.e. organic matter stratification, carbon management index and soil biological activities). For this purpose, eight samples from organic layer (litter) and m...
